Thinking of all the travels and visiting that many of you are enjoying this weekend! And  I have been so enjoying recent posts as well! I love hearing the different writing voices, and such a range of ages and people! I had some kiddo stories to share and other stuff but will just keep it short for now. Here’s a note that we got this morning from Dad and Mom Stocker. No word yet on if this is April Foolery or real in whole or part. 🙂

Hello Kids,

Sometimes things just move faster than expect. We had planned on telling you all in person this summer figuring we had plenty of time but not so. We got a phone call (voice mail) from Kelly Webb, the realtor that sold our Monmouth home, quite a few months ago. We called her back in February and after a long chat and a visit we put our house on the market. Based on the sales experience of our previous neighbors we thought it would be on the market for a long time. We decided to put it on the market for several reasons but probably the first few on the list were Mom’s body not standing up too well to working, Dad turning 66 and his job facing significant changes which probably will reduce his hours or eliminate the job altogether.

You may remember Dad talking about getting a conversion van and traveling in retirement. Well, we looked at some and checked out an RV/camper show at the CivicCenter and found we liked the class A motor homes better and they were not much more than a fancy conversion van. At about that time Kelly called and had a potential buyer. One thing led to another and now it looks like a done deal. We think closing will be scheduled by the end of April. Because of that we started looking more into the motor homes, made some calls and we have now put a down payment on a Thor Motor Coach ACE Motor Home. We’re working with a dealer in Bangor but the actual unit is inFlorida right now. We’ll attach some photos and a list of the basic features. If you want to see more just Google the name underlined. Ours is the EVO 29.1 model. We are getting it for less than $80,000 and the house is under contract for quite a bit more than that so we’re going for it. The motor home is scheduled to arrive by mid April so we’ll have a little time to get our new home set up. The buyers of our house said they would appreciate getting a furnished home to begin with so we don’t have a lot of big furniture items to worry about.

Some of the basic features: Single Slide Thor Motor Coach A.C.E. Motorhome w/Rear Queen Bed w/Closets Both Sides, Shower, Private Toilet Area w/Vanity & Sink, Overhead Storage, L-Counter w/Round Kitchen Sink & Overhead Storage, Refrigerator, Broom Closet, Sofa, 24″ LCD TV in Living Area, Booth Dinette/Pantry & 3 Burner Range w/Microwave Above Slideout, Front Drop-Down Overhead Bunk and Much More!

Sorry this seems so sudden but it will work out.

Love you all,

Mom and Dad Stocker

And now for a little (much less clever) foolery of my own. Tobin is starting to use the urinal and I took this at church this morning for Elizabeth because he is so cute. I’ll share it and then take it down again soon. He is very proud of himself…
