I just finished writing my DQ’s for class and I am rewarding myself with one very brief post before going on to my next task.

Jesse: “I wouldn’t rule out the fact that Christ nuzzled and gamboled with God on his way to the cross (over the course of his ministry, not so much at Gethsemane–although nuzzling might not be so far off the mark even then).”

Yes, I think so too although it wasn’t what I said last night. In fact, when I went up to bed last night I lay there and was thinking about what I had just written and thought of the verse in Hebrews 12:2 “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” That does leave room for even the gamboling, certainly the nuzzling, and it about wraps up the full message- fix our eyes on Him – for HE knew how to trust- even in this most intense of all tests and trials.

OK back to work… I have enjoyed reviewing The Seven Habits by going through it with these kids. After so much Covey -( who, for all his wisdom, leaves out the Christian context and foundation that his “principled centered living” cries out for, and thus turns the whole attempt at “being effective” into something somewhat idolatrous in and of itself) the kids were all touchingly sweetly refreshed by reading the Christ centered old article Tyranny of the Urgent. Oh how rich we are in Him!

Did I say I was getting back to work?
