I enjoyed this bit of news about Sadie and Odie so much and I thought the rest of you would enjoy hearing it too. Jessica said it was ok with her for me to share this round, despite the fact that she wrote it hastily and in bits and pieces as she had a second …

We have all been praying so much and wondering how Odie is… I particularly enjoyed the word picture you painted of the contrast between Sadie and Odie, Jessica. It’s precious.

Orlando seems to be doing really well. He’s the polar opposite of Sadie in every way, except cuteness, he’s also very cute, of course I think so of both of them! šŸ™‚ He’s nursing OK. I have to get into the hang of it, of course. He must be nursed to sleep at night and cannot be moved afterward, so he sleeps with us, and I have to be careful that I don’t smother him… that makes the positions I end up falling asleep in sometimes a little uncomfortable. Still, I think I’m getting enough sleep, mostly just because I get to sleep-in, but poor Kevin is getting even less sleep than normal because he wakes up so early and has no way of catching up. Sadie got a cold and passed it onto Kevin and me, I’m really hoping Orlando doesn’t get it, but right now I’m debating whether to call his doctor because his left eye is all swollen and pussy. He seems to be sometimes a bit disappointed with my amount of milk, but his pooping and peeing is so plentiful that Kevin says he must just be a greedy little growing boy, and it’s not that I don’t have enough milk.

I realize now that with Sadie, she was just not able to relax, and that made it hard for me to relax, and that’s really very necessary for nursing. Sadie brings energy and excitement to our family and Orlando bring peace. They are both so complementary of each other. God has been very careful in his blessings, they are both wonderful and different.

Sadie is definitely not as excited and obsessed with him as I was anticipating she may be. But she has no negative reaction toward him. Occasionally she wants to hold him and pat his head. She gets very upset and wants to pat his head if he cries, which is not often and only if his diaper is being changed or if he wants to eat. He does want to eat SOO often that sometimes I have to let him cry a bit, but not very often at all. Sadie likes to give him is pacifyer… likes it a little too much so we have to keep a close eye on her when she’s with him.

Odie’s also awful fond of holding hands. šŸ™‚ He’s very sweet. I can’t wait for you to meet him.
