Sorry for the looooooooooong delay in the announcement–I have been trying to pick a good book for family reading and discussion and have considered a pretty wide variety of options. I think I’ve got the book picked, unless anyone has any objections. It has excellent reviews from secular and Christian (ie. World) critics, and was a best-seller for quite a while. It is written by an Afghan-born doctor who gets up at 4:00 am to write novels before work.

Kite Runner
by Khaled Hosseini

Albuquerque Journal
“Hosseini’s book is more than a typical coming-of-age story. Rather it is about personal salvation, betrayal, and redemption.”

Remember, this is totally just a “participate if you feel like it and have time” activity. I hope you enjoy–I’ve been planning to read this book for quite a while, and I’m looking forward to starting it with Katie soon. (As soon as we finish Pickwick Papers).
